Membership Requirements
TWC operates on a semester system, with each year divided into two six-month periods
(February-July, August-January). Rather than the OL/VOL system of the past, TWC now operates
on a point-based system. All TWC-related activities are worth a certain number of points;
members must accrue 50 points per semester.
Point values for individual actions:
Submit a story: 20
Submit a story with a one-week extension: 10
Submit a poem: 10
Submit an essay: 15
Win a category (Mechanics, etc): 5/category
Vote: 5
Submit a challenge idea: 2 (only one per challenge)
Your challenge chosen: 2
Post in forum: 1 per post (but no more than 20 points per semester)
In addition, we require that all members submit their work in response to at least one challenge
(fiction, poetry, or essay) per semester.
For members joining partway through the semester, the points for the partial semester are reduced:
Joining in February/August: 50
Joining in March/September: 40
Joining in April/October: 30
Joining in May/November: 20
Joining in June/December: 10
Joining in July/January: 0 pts
